Ron Armstrong
Director
Ron is Chairman and founder of E-Synergy. He holds engineering degrees from the universities of London and Cambridge and, during the last 30 years, he has been a director of companies in the fields of international management consulting, contract R&D, consumer goods and management training. During this time he has also been a board member of several investment companies listed on the London Stock Exchange. The most recent of these was Electra Private Equity PLC where, for several years, he was Chairman of the Audit Committee.
Ron has considerable experience in the commercial exploitation of technology. He was the youngest director of Cambridge Consultants which was the catalyst for many successful start-up businesses. This led to senior roles at Wilkinson Sword, where he was responsible for the engineering development of all product lines, and at Ingersoll Engineers Inc. In 1985 he was appointed CEO of Pera which, through acquisitions, he expanded from a single-site UK business to a group with offices in eight countries. He is a keen investor in early-stage, high-tech companies and has been chairman of several of these companies.
