Regional design company, Deadgood, has recently secured second round investment from the North East Angel Fund to launch two new collections of eclectic furniture and lighting.
“The launch of our latest Collection will help develop our position at the forefront of innovative furniture and interior product design and will open new opportunities to supply products to some of the world’s most exciting high specification commercial and domestic developments.” States Dan Ziglam, Director of Deadgood.
Fellow director, Elliot Brook, adds “With the launch of these projects we not only plan to be recognised as active supporters of this country’s wealth of creative talent but also hope to exemplify our commitment to supporting British manufacturing, in turn enhancing our capacity to deliver great British design.”
The collections adhere to the company’s stringent value for developing beautiful and unique objects, produced with a clear and uncompromising commitment to quality and united by an unmistakably British sense of fun and eccentricity. Dan and Elliot will launch the new ranges at the prestigious London Design Festival this September.
Natalia Blagburn, of Rivers Capital Partners, who manages the North East Angel Fund, commented ‘’Deadgood not only produces excellent contemporary furniture but has clear potential to grow as a business becoming a succesful design brand of the moment.’’
Dan adds “We are extremely excited about this next phase of growth for Deadgood. We started our business with a one product idea and five hundred pounds in hand. Over the past years we have steadily grown our client and product portfolio. This portrays our intention to become well-known as one of the innovative brands in the industry.”
The original business started out by two graduate designers (Dan Ziglam & Elliot Brook) attempting to find their feet in the competitive world of design, has now evolved into what is poised to become one of the key British design brands of the future.
Deadgood aims to continue capitalising on the wealth of creative talent of the region, accelerating young design stars from the academy to the economy whilst simultaneously enhancing the company’s capacity to engage and commercially deploy ‘Great British Design.’
Ultimately Dan and Elliot’s goal is to produce a cutting edge Collection of 21st Century design classics, supplied to an international niche of style driven consumers on the back of building one of the UK’s most dynamic design brands..
Deadgood clients include a selection of prominent international department stores situated in London, Hong Kong, Milan and many more iconic style cities.
Deadgood have worked with clients that include Aftershock, Phillips, 1NG, Urban Splash, Manchester Airport, the BBC, Building Schools for the Future and Northumbria University to name but a few.
