FIRST DEAL is a unique investment and business incubation package of £10,000 of potential investments from the Finance For Business North East Angel Fund for students and early stage entrepreneurs.

In conjunction with Square One Law LLP and Finance Tree, Rivers Capital Partners has brought together a mentored path to an initial £10,000 investment with business incubation and advice.  Our aim is to help your company grow towards your first independent investment deal.

Your business must meet the eligibility criteria of the fund and pitch their business to the RCP Investment Committee.  If successful, we will then start the ball rolling with your first investment!

You will be guided through the standard investment process, through a comprehensive but fast track mentored process to your FIRST DEAL.  Your mentors will be drawn from experienced corporate finance professionals at Finance Tree and expert commercial lawyers at Square One Law LLP and their networks.

The investment on offer is in return for a fixed equity stake using a simple investment agreement.  If you successfully secure the £10,000, you will be in a process that can take you on to further cash in the form of follow-on capital up to £150,000 through the NE Angel Fund as well as access to our private Business Angel Network.

The Fund

The investment comes from the Finance for Business North East Angel Fund which is part of a £125m publicly-backed venture capital fund created by One North East.  North East Finance oversees this fund, and six others, which make up the Finance for Business North East Programme.  Rivers Capital Partners are the nominated fund managers who run the fund on a day-to-day basis
